Monday, 30 June 2008 06:58
Ericsson 4, the second boat built for the upcoming Volvo Ocean Race, was officially unveiled at the team's boatyard next to the Global Headquarters in Kista, Stockholm.
The boat was unveiled at a special event on Thursday. CEO Carl-Henrik Svanberg, International crew skipper Torben Grael, Nordic crew skipper Anders Lewander were present, and a number of Ericsson employees and special guests were present to see the final handover of the boat from the build team.
PS Communication handled the event from planning to execution, the first boat (Ericsson 3) was presented earlier this year in Barcelona. Ericsson Racing Team has today presented the final piece of the puzzle for the Volvo Ocean Race.
Some 17,000 visitors have come to visit the boatyard since the build started, giving both Ericsson colleagues and customers the opportunity to interact with the build team and see, first hand, how a technologically advanced racing yacht is constructed.
